Project updates

TM2: Building the Future of Inclusive Education in Košice

Back in September, the Transnational Meeting 2 (TM2) in Košice set the stage for the next big steps in the Design2Freedom project. Held at the Technical University of Košice, this gathering wasn’t just about meetings—it was about shaping the future of inclusive education.
Representatives from COCEMFE, Technical University of Košice, Universidade da Coruña, Vilniaus Kolegija, and Creative District came together to evaluate the project’s progress, exchange best practices, and gear up for the LTT2 Inclusive Design Lab. A major focus was on refining person-centered design approaches and planning how universities would implement pilot projects from January to June 2025.
One of the most engaging discussions centered on how to effectively implement inclusive methodologies in higher education. Experts shared valuable insights on assistive technology and accessibility, ensuring that the next phases of the project would be even stronger.
TM2 wasn’t just about strategy—it was also about connection. The meeting wrapped up with a guided tour of Košice’s historic city center, offering a perfect mix of professional collaboration and cultural exchange. With strong commitments and a clear roadmap ahead, TM2 set the foundation for real change in higher education.

LTT2: When Innovation Meets Inclusion in A Coruña

Last December, the LTT2 Inclusive Design Lab in A Coruña brought together passionate educators, designers, and disability advocates for three days of hands-on learning and innovation. Hosted at CITIC – Universidade da Coruña, this event was all about making education and technology more accessible and inclusive. Participants didn't just sit through lectures—they dived straight into action! Working in multidisciplinary teams, they tackled real-life challenges presented by disability organizations like COGAMI and ASPACE. From brainstorming to prototyping, every moment was dedicated to creating practical solutions that could make a real difference. The highlight? The hackathon-style format, where teams raced against time to develop innovative designs while receiving expert mentorship. Alongside this, microlearning sessions and networking opportunities kept the energy high and the ideas flowing. By the end of the event, not only did participants walk away with new skills, but they also helped pave the way for future pilots that will integrate inclusive design into university curricula. LTT2 proved that when creativity meets purpose, powerful things happen!

🚀 Coming Soon: The D2F Platform!

Big things are happening behind the scenes! We’re working hard on the D2F platform, a one-stop hub for inclusive design resources, innovative ideas, and collaborative opportunities. Whether you're an educator, student, or advocate for accessibility, this platform will be your go-to space to learn, share, and create impact. Stay tuned for the official launch—we can’t wait to share it with you! In the meantime, keep an eye out for updates, because this is just the beginning. Exciting things are on the horizon!
